MARAL (WAPITI) HUNT IN ALTAI

We organize this hunt in those areas of ALTAY, KHAKASSIJA and TUVA where the biggest Maral trophies of last years were taken in Russia. These areas obviously are very productive for biggest Maral in C.I.S. Our clients took trophies up to 18 kilos. The hunt is conducted in forested mountains at the altitude 1000 m – 2000 m (3000 – 6000 ft) a.s.l.

The air temperature during the hunting season:

September +10 - +20 C (+50 - +70 F)

October -10 - +10 C (+15 - +50 F)

The easiest hunting is done during the mating season (normally in the second half of September -beginning of October) , where stags can be heard in forests early in the morning or late in the evening. The guides call stags to the hunter imitating animals. IN OUR AREAS GUIDES ARE REALLY EXPERTS IN CALLING STAGS. It is a very exciting hunt. Sometimes a hunter can see two males fighting for a female. Generally hunters set up fly-camps for 2-3 days, leaving basic camp horseback. THERE ARE EXPERIENCED GUIDES, interpreter, cook and helpers in the camp. In many areas YOU HAVE additional OPPORTUNITY TO HUNT IBEX and SIBERIAN ROE DEER . Ibex can reach 100 cm – 130 cm (39 in-51 in) , roe deer horns can be up to 1200 gr. During this trip you will see the way of life of local people, their national traditions. You may FLY TO THE HUNTING AREA IN ALTAY WITH DIRECT FLIGHT FROM EUROPE (to Novosibirsk). Also you can visit local museums and other places of interest in the area. This hunt will leave you unforgettable impressions for the whole life. There is no such custom's and paper work's problems like you'll have in Kazakhstan on the same hunt.

Transfer: On Altai hunt:

1 variant : - 4 hr from Moscow to Barnaul by plane, then 3 hr by car to Gorno-Altaisk (not included to tour price), then 8-10 hr to the hunting camp (4 - 5 hr by car and 4-5 hr by horse) or 1,5 hr by helicopter (not included to tour price).

2 variant : - arrival directly in Novosibirsk from Europe, then transfer by car to Gorno-Altaisk – 7-8 hr (not included to the tour price), then 8-10 hr to hunting camp (4 -5 hr by car and 4 -5 hr by horse) or 1,5 hr by helicopter (not included to tour price).

On Khakassija hunt:

4,5 hr from Moscow to Abakan, then 7-8 hr by car to hunting camp or 1,5 hr by helicopter (not included to tour price).

On Tuva hunt:

5 hr from Moscow to Kizil ,then to the hunting camp 4-5 hr by jeep and 4-5 hr by motor boat or 1,5 hr by helicopter (not included to tour price).

HUNT ITINERARY :

1 day - arrival in Moscow, airport procedures, flight to Barnau, Kizill or Abakan, depending on hunting area.

2 day - arrival in Barnaul, Abakan or Kizil from Moscow or to Novosibirsk from Europe, transfer to hunting camp.

3-9 days - hunt.

10 day - returning to Moscow or Novosibirsk, flight home.
